“Dr. F. Keith Slaughter, Th.D., stands eminently in the rich tradition of the Interdenominational Theological Center’s creative contribution to the field of Pastoral Care and Clinical Psychology from a Black perspective which dates from Dr. Thomas Pugh, Ph.D., the progenitor of African American Pastoral Care, Dr. Edward P. Wimberly, Ph.D. the Father of modern African American Pastoral Care, and Dr. Carolyn McCrary, Th.D. the Mother of modern African American Pastoral Care from a Womanist Perspective. As a valid and authentic disciple of this unique scholastic heritage, Dr. F. Keith Slaughter embraces and articulates an African centered philosophy of Pastoral Care that generates healing and hope to human persons within the African Diaspora.”  (photo & commentary by Dr. Waymon Dixon)
